The Nile: from Luxor to Aswan

Upstream, totality gets shorter: 6 min 23 s in Luxor, 5 min 35 s in Edfu and 3 min 47 s in Kom Ombo.

Aswan just misses it: the Moon covers 99.9% of the Sun there, with no totality. Kom Ombo, 43 km away, does see it.

If you are on a Nile cruise, check where the boat will be at midday on 2 August. The closer to Luxor, the longer the totality.

The Red Sea

On the coast: Hurghada, partial, 98.5%; Safaga, partial, 99.6%; El Qoseir, 2 min 24 s of totality; Marsa Alam, 5 min 30 s of totality.
