The terrain

The horizon at L'Aldea in the Sun's direction

In the direction the Sun will be in at maximum, the ground rises 3.1° above the horizontal at L'Aldea: a rise of 1,340 m, 23.3 km away, with the reference point of the municipality 17 m above sea level.
At that same moment the Sun will be 4.6° above the horizon at L'Aldea. The big constraint in L'Aldea will be the Sun's altitude: during totality it will be only 4.4° above the horizon, practically grazing it. Find a completely clean west-northwest line of sight — the sea, a wide plain or a clear high point — because any building, ridge or tree line can block it.
